Hi, I am Linda Rains, and I am a Mom, a Mimi, and a wife. I have had a long career in serving the state of Kentucky in the field of education. Although education is still my passion, I have taken on fulfilling some life dreams, and that is designing ways to bring people together in love, connection, and joy! I am excited that you have landed on The Simple Knot! At The Simple Knot, I help couples embrace the beauty of a heartfelt, intimate ceremony honoring their love in its purest and simplest form. As an officiant at The Simple Knot, I believe in the wonder and beauty of simplicity- the kind that brings two people together, that is personal and meant to be between two people in love.

I also find joy in crafting meals that warm the spirit and create lasting memories by bringing families and friends together through traditional Kentucky comfort food at The Kentucky Spoon. I wholeheartedly believe that delicious food isn't just about flavors- it's about the experience of sharing, gathering, and celebrating what matters.  

Everything I do- whether officiating your vows or preparing a meal to share with loved ones- is rooted in a mission of love and service. Life's most precious moments aren't about extravagance, but about the simple joys that make our hearts full. It would be an honor to serve, create, and celebrate alongside you. 

Hi there, I’m Gracie Howard!  I’m so glad you’ve found your way to The Simple Knot, and I’m honored you’re considering us to help plan one of the most meaningful days of your life!

The idea for The Simple Knot was born out of real-life experiences.  After helping both my son and daughter plan their weddings, I quickly realized how overwhelming (and expensive!) the traditional wedding industry can be. Then, when I began planning my own wedding a few years ago, it really hit home!  The endless decisions, rising costs, and red tape left me feeling like the wedding was taking priority over the marriage.  One day, my fiancé and I looked at each other and said, “Let’s just go.” So we did!  We eloped, and it was perfect- simple, sincere, and just about us.  The only problem was that there weren’t many options locally, so we had to travel to Tennessee.

That experience sparked a passion in me to help other couples have the same joyful, stress-free start to their forever, and that’s how The Simple Knot came to life!

As a retired educator, mom, wife, and GiGi, I know the value of meaningful moments and lasting memories!  I’d love nothing more than to help you tie the knot in a way that reflects YOU- with love, simplicity, and authenticity.
